Due to me being prone to itchy skin flare ups, I can’t have a standard birthday cake made of flour and carbs like other pups. Thus, mama decided to make a “cake” out of my usual BOM BOM meal. She topped it with a spoon of yoghurt, a small raspberry, and also from BOM BOM, a wild Hokkaido mussel, 1/3 of a sashimi-grade oyster, and bonito flakes (thanks for the birthday treat). Vanillapup is inspired by Latte, my eight-year-old female West Highland White Terrier. The experience of being a first-time dog owner was overwhelming and confusing. I found myself constantly worrying about doing things wrong even with the help from Google and online communities. That quickly led to the creation of Vanillapup, where I can share my personal discoveries as a dog owner, and also to document Latte’s life growing up in sunny Singapore.
